Laxman tried his very best to console Sita who hissed forth like an angry serpent having his way. She cried- sinful wretch, traitor, cheat-you’ll only find some excuse to stay here for a while & turned her back upon him as rage choked her words
For the last 13 years he has been serving like a menial servant with all his might-carrying belongings, building homes & fetching household supplies. He never thought about himself but only about the happiness of the divine couple. He abandoned all comforts, mother & wife for this task but all he got was slander in place of appreciation. Malicious & unjustified assassination on his character hurt him most
Instead of rebuking or protesting, Laxman did the unthinkable. He said- I’m leaving as per your wish but take it for me that when we’ll be back you’ll not be here. I feel sorry for you but as humble servant & well wisher, I pray to all deities of forest to protect you when you’re alone. He then saluted her reverently & walked away with heavy heart
Times of absolute pain & distress tests one’s character & commitment. For true leader, at work or in personal life, when going gets tough, buds of even temperament blossoms & his distinctive nature & strength is tested. Who is balanced & equanimous is remembered & revered
