🐾Taking a step back⚡
Khara, roused in mad fury, said to Ram-You’re utterly blinded with pride & conceit after killing men of inferior power in my army. Fear & danger has gripped you & shadow of death is growing upon you as you see me having superior strength
He then knitted his brows in terrible frown, uprooted a huge Sal tree nearby, bit his lips in concentrated rage & hurled it at Ram shouting-This will finish you. In a flash, it was chopped to pieces by one arrow from Ram’s bow
Sita who was seeing this from the top, wondered why brothers struggled to chop firewood from the forest, when Ram could turn a full tree into small pieces with one arrow. She understood smilingly that celestial powers are not for one’s own use but for higher purpose, for the benefit of society
Khara next ran towards Ram at lightning speed. Ram didn’t have enough time to draw the arrow & took a few steps back to have space. Thus drawing an arrow he shot Khara at the heart & his life air left body. Although it was against Kshatriya’s codes to step back but this was a tactical move
We all have special skills- Do we use it for a higher purpose? The abilities we are entrusted with by the Supreme Lord have only the purpose to serve others. Krsna says in Bhagavad Gita:
yajñārthāt karmaṇo ’nyatra loko ’yaṁ karma-bandhanaḥ
tad-arthaṁ karma kaunteya mukta-saṅgaḥ samācara
Work done as a sacrifice for Viṣṇu has to be performed; otherwise work causes bondage in this material world. Therefore, O son of Kuntī, perform your prescribed duties for His satisfaction, and in that way you will always remain free from bondage
Sometimes we also need to step back, rethink, rejuvenate & then come with full force to achieve our goals.
All times moving forward is not always smart. A gun recoils to shoot
Thoughts pls? #gameoflife
