Stirred by words of his sister, Rāvana sent ministers away without taking counsel of them. Thinking about pros & cons to either attack Rām & take Sita away by force or abduct her in secret. Seeing fate that befell Khara-Dushan, it’s impossible to attack openly so possibly stealing Sita away is better option.

Rāvana again flew alone on Pushpak vimāna to Māricha, who was surprised by his early return. He said, a great load of anxiety crushes me & no one but you can relieve me. Khara-Dushan & Trisiras are dead, with fourteen thousand strong demon army by a human on foot named Rām. Unprovoked & blinded with his puny strength, he also mutilated my sister Surpanakha & I intend to avenge this by abducting his wife Sita who’s lovelier than maids of heaven

You are a master of illusion. Transform yourself into a golden deer & wander about their abode, in sight of Sita. Innocently she will consider you as real deer & ask the princes to catch you. Entice them far away from the cottage & then it’s easy work for me to abduct her. Losing Sita, Rām will loose heart & will be an easy prey to me

Huge lesson for us! Swayed by passion & false ego, one makes mistakes after mistake.

Decisions in business or in personal life should be based on deeply thought principles with key stakeholders and should not be a knee jerk reaction

Krsna says in Bhagavad Gita

prakṛteḥ kriyamāṇāni guṇaiḥ karmāṇi sarvaśaḥ
ahaṅkāra-vimūḍhātmā kartāham iti manyate

The spirit soul bewildered by the influence of false ego thinks himself the doer of activities that are in actuality carried out by the three modes of material nature.
