Stichting Swarakshetra proudly presents The Grand Indian Music concert by violin maestros Dr Manjunath and Sumanth Manjunath, Dutch flutist Ned McGowan and mridangam maestro, B C Manjunath.
Dr Manjunath is an accomplished Carnatic music (South Indian classical music) violinist who has performed in over 42 countries and conferred with numerous national and international awards, the prestigious Sangeet Natak Academy by Govt. of India, The Excellence Award from American Institute of World culture, Honors from the American Arts council, Best Violinist awards from The Music Academy and many more. He will be accompanied in the concert by his son, Sumanth Manjunath, who is a becoming a sensation with his brilliant performances around the world. The other music ensemble members include accomplished dutch flutist Ned Mc Gowan and eminent percussionist, B C Manjunath.
Ned McGowan is a professor of composition, ensembles and Advanced Rhythm and Pulse at the Utrecht Conservatory and has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Concertgebouw and other halls and festivals around the world.
B C Manjunath is a renowned mridangist who is as active in the field of carnatic classical music as he is in the jazz and world music stage and gives regular workshops in music conservatories in the Netherlands.
Stichting Swarakshetra is a non-profit foundation with the aim of promoting Carnatic classical music in the Netherlands by organizing concerts of renowned carnatic musicians and also training students in this art form.
