Celebrating the 75th Year of India’s Independence – Classical & Beyond

The Classical & Beyond concept has been curated considering the two different types of music blending together and bringing the flavours of Indian music to the audiences. Dr. Subramaniam performs his original classical compositions which are based on Indian ragas and performed with Indian & western instruments. Towards the end, both Dr. Subramaniam and Kavita Krishnamurti will collaborate for some patriotic songs with some really interesting alaaps and trade offs.

Dr. L. Subramaniam

Padma Bhushan Dr. L. Subramaniam has been acclaimed as ‘the god of the Indian violin", whom the New York Times has referred to as “...the best the listener has heard". He is a foremost orchestral composer who has composed for and performed with leading symphony orchestras like the New York & London Symphonies. He is also the creator of the Global Fusion concept.

Kavita Krishnamurti

Kavita Krishnamurti is an acclaimed playback and classical singer. She has recorded over 50,000 Songs in 46 various languages including Rajasthani, Bengali, Kannada, Hindi, Bhojpuri, Telugu, Odia, Marathi, English, Urdu, Tamil, Malayalam, Gujarati, Nepali, Assamese, Konkani and other languages. She is the recipient of four Filmfare Best Female Playback Singer Awards (winning consecutively during 1995 – 1997), and the Padma Shri which she received in 2005. In 1999, she married noted violinist L. Subramaniam and now resides in Bengaluru.
